PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN ,RIVER STATES GOVERNOR AND BEYELSA STATE GOVERNOR, AMECHI AND DICKSON HOLDS SECRET MEETING.

There were indications that President Goodluck Jonathan, the River States Governor, Mr.Rotimi Amechi, and his Bayelsa counterpart, Mr. Seriake Dickson, on Thursday had a closed door meeting in River State.
The venue and agenda of the meeting were not cleared as of the time of this meeting.
However, source said the ongoing feud between the People Democratic Party and the seven rebel governors loyal to the new PDP could be part of the discussion.
It was gathered that Amechi and Dickson flew in in the same chopper with Jonathan from the Port Harcourt International Airport to Okrika in River State, where the remains of the President's wife's foster mother, late Charity Oba, would be buried today.(Friday)
A Government House source said Jonathan, Amechi and Dickson might have met in the private resident of the President's wife, Patience.
The source explained that the President, Amechi and his Bayelsa state governor, could cash only on the opportunity provided by the burial of Jonathan's in-law to resolve their political differences.
"Governor Amechi and the Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson Recieved the President at the Port Harcourt International Airport and the two governor joined the President in a chopper to Okrika.
"I am aware that they(Jonathan, Amechi and Dickson)flew to Okirika in a chopper, but what i cannot say for now is whether they went into close meeting" the Chief Press Secretary to the River State Governor, Mr. David Iyor Told Punch Metro.

A WOMAN DIES AFTER FIXING WEAVE

Irene Myangoh, a personal assistant working at a law firm in Nairobi, according to source, went to upmarket hair salon along Kenyatta Avenue, and spent more than N5,500 on a human hair weave, which we all know is expensive.
After two weeks she started suffering from severe headache that would not go away. She went to several hospital, she was given some medication, only for the headache to resurface after some minutes of relief. The ache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at her work and her sleeping at night became so poor. After series of test, one of the doctors decided to examine her scalp and under the beautiful weave and to his amaze found worms!!
There was profound cobweb design in her weaved hair, after several uncontrollable constant headache she dropped dead.
It was later found that the weave had unnoticed spider eggs. The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conductive environment for the eggs to hatch. A spider grew in her scalp and bit her, the poison found a way to her blood stream and she could not survive the attack.
The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the sample to lab it was found that that the hair had eggs.

BOY, 14 RAPES 9-YEAR-OLD GIRL TO DEATH

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how 9-year old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to the police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times by Onyi Adimabua, a student in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The father of the deceased, Simon Jigo told Punch Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said the daughter opened up when she started seeing medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said her daughter died 3rd October 2013.
The man said he reported the matter to Ikorodu Police Station, only to be told to put his mobile phone number, he was asked to go home, he will be called when the investigation starts. He waited for sometime before writing petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Yaba.
It was discovered that Onyi had been taken to his home town at Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.
Police investigation officer,Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to Punch correspondent on the telephone expressed shocked at the development.
"It is appalling that a teenager should indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested." Briade said.

A LAGOS BASED LAWYER SUE FG/ASUU OVER LINGERING STRIKE

A Lagos based lawyer, Mr Daniel Onwe, has dragged Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, before a Federal High Court, Lagos over violation of the fundamental right to the dignity of person of the affected students, who have been out of school following the union's strike.
The suit, FHC/CS/1360/13 was brought pursuant to section 46(1) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution, Order II of the Fundamental Human Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 1999 and Article 5 of the African Charter of Human and People's Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap. 10, LFN, 1990.
Onwe is asking the court for declaration that the indefinite strike leading to the closure of government-owned universities across the country violates the fundamental right to dignity of person of affected student guaranteed under Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution.
He is seeking for an order from the court directing the Federal Government and ASUU to resolve their differences and forthwith re-open universities, including an order mandating ASUU to call off their ongoing strike action and resume their job by lecturing in the said universities immediately
Hearing on the suit, before Justice Ibrahim Buba, is on November 13

COURT BANS BRYMO FROM MUSIC OVER DISPUTE WITH CHOCOLATE CITY

Chocolate City has got a legal injunction against Brymo who just released his 3rd album- Merchant Dealer and Slaves - restraining him "from recording or performing artist through or for the benefits of any person(s) or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.
Brymo left Chocolate City early this year, after having personal concern about his career.
After he quit the label, he met up with his producer, Mikky Me, and together they created a new album (Merchant, Dealer and Slaves).
Brymo also signed a distribution deal with Spinlet, giving them distribution right to his new album.
Chocolate City insists that Brymo contract remains valid until 2016.

2014 WORLD CUP VENUE IN BRAZIL CATCHES FIRE

AFP- A small fire broke out on Friday at one of the stadium under construction for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil authorities adding, there was no injury.
"The fire reportedly broke out on Friday afternoon at the construction site of the Pantanal Arena was quickly controlled by the construction crews and fire fighters," said a statement from the state World Cup headquater
"The incident will have no consequence in the continuation of the project, it added.
The fire broke out in a batch of uninstalled polystyrene insulation panel intended for the roof of the building.
The Pantanal Arena, in Brazil's west-central city of Cuiaba, is one of 12 World Cup intended venue.

ARMY KILLS 74 BOKO HARAM FIGTHERS IN BORNO RAID.

AFP- Nigeria's army said Friday it had killed 74 suspected Boko Haram fighters in a raid on insurgent camps in restive Borno State, the latest operation in the military bid to crush a four-year Islamist uprising.
"The operation which involved ground and aerial assault... led to the destruction of the identified terrorist camps, killing 74 suspected militants," area army spokesman Mohammed Dole said of the Thursday raid in Borno in the northeast Borko Haram stronghold.
