FAMILY OF 5 DIES IN EDO AUTO CRASH
The Edo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has confirmed the death of a family of five in a car crash at Okada junction on the Benin-Ore highway.
The family lost their lives on their way back to Lagos, yesterday, November 6, after seeing off a relative who traveled to America.
Kingsley Okafor, President of the Association of Resident Doctor at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Benin on Thursday their member, Ralph Omojefe, was affected in the incident.
He said that Mr. Omojefe, who worked in the Morbid Anatomy Department of the hospital also lost his three children and an uncle in the incident.
Mr. Okafor said that the association had paid condolence visit to the family of Mr. Omojefe while his wife and remaining members of the family had been taken to their village in Delta.
He said that the members of the association had declared seven-day mourning period and would wear arm band as a mark of respect for their colleague.
"We will observe a minute silence everyday before any clinic session," he said.
John Adei, the public Enlightenment Officer of the FRSC in Edo, said that the command had not received details of the accident.
