PHOTO AND VIDEO :A NIGERIAN DEATH IN INDIA SPARK PROTEST, DIPLOMATIC WAR.

A week after a Nigerian national was murdered in Goa, allegedly linked to war  between two gangs involved in trug trafficking. Nigerian Ambassador to India, Ndubisi Vitus Amaku said, "We have been given the impression that the murder of this person is not important to you, your only concern is that of your people."
He also added that the situation is volatile and demanded proper action. "I think both government can handle it through diplomatic channels. Its not an issue to be resolve through the media or press."
Meanwhile, MEA spokesman, Syed Akbaruddin  said, "We have asked the Chief Secretaryof Goa to give details report about the incident."
On Wednesday, the Goa police arrested one of the eight suspects who according to initial investigation, murdered the Nigerian national. According to Goa police a narcotics-related turf-war between rival gangs operating in north costal Goa led to the murder. With the motive still unclear. The hunt is is on for other suspect.
The arrest came a day after the Nigerian consular official gave a thinly veiled threat saying . " There are only 50,000 Nigerians living in India, but there are over one million Indians living in Nigeria. Thousands of Indians will be thrown out on the streets if forcible eviction of Nigerians in Goa does not stop."
However, the Nigerians have denied such statement and have blamed the India media for it.
Earlier, enraged Nigerians national had protested on the National Highway 17 in Goa last week.
The agitated mob had refused to move the body of the deceased. While the first arrest in the case soon lead the police to the root of the matter, the Nigerian community is complaining of being harassed by the police for verification of identities. The issue has now gone beyond law and order concerns with diplomatic war between India and Nigeria
